Could Anyone recommend a good but cheap effects pedal for guitar?
Hi, im a newbie on guitar and wondered how everyone Else's solos sounded better than mine. then i found out they had an effects pedal!
Could anyone recommend a good pedal but fairly cheap as its my first one- ive only been playing for about 3 months

Hey keep up the good work, practice at least 1 hour a day and you'll get some sick licks down. If you really want to find the best pedal for your style, just read up about your favorite guitarists and find out what type of Amp and effects they use. This will take a lot of guess work out of getting that sound that you really want and will make your playing a lot more fluid once you hear the sweet sound you want.
If you can, get a hold of Guitar Player Magazines and get an issue about the guitarist you want to sound like, try to play some of the licks and patterns they play. You will get the hang of it soon, and you'll even find out what influences those guitar players to play what they play. Eventually, you will adapt your very own style of playing and impress other guitar players in your circle.
Anyway, my personal preference is a Vox Tone Lab. This pedal will give you great distortion and also some awesome room effects. It will put you back some money but it is well worth it and you will never have to buy another pedal again.
